Not everyone has room for a full-blown Audio Set, but we all appreciate the full and immersive sound from bigger Flagship models.

Reference-500 Series Highlights

TEAC ɅƩdelta-sigma discrete DAC

High-quality sound with TEAC's custom DAC

Instead of using a generic DAC IC, we incorporated a newly-developed TEAC ΔΣ (Delta Sigma) discrete DAC comprised of discrete circuitry that uses FPGA incorporating our original algorithms. Analog signals are output with high audio quality. DSD signals are transmitted as is, while PCM signals are transmitted after passing through a ΔΣ modulator and conversion to either 1-bit or multi-bit signals; according to the end users choosing.

We can say that achieving this wide, perfectly clear sound field, which can be realized specifically because of the discrete design, is TEAC reaching the pinnacle of its sound objectives. With the TEAC ΔΣ discrete DAC, playback of 22.5MHz DSD and 384kHz/32-bit PCM is possible.

Powerful Amplification

Modules by Ncore, tuned by TEAC

By using a high-performance, energy-efficient Hypex Ncore power amplifier module which produces 130W + 130W in stereo/bi-amp modes or 250W in BTL mode, the amplifiers in the 500-series are able to reproduce real musical dynamics with high precision.

The Ncore modules undergone extensive listening tests before being carefully tuned and tweaked by TEAC's own engineers.

Dedicated Phono Preamplifier

Innovative and highly versatile

The development of the PE-505 was achieved by relying on TEAC’s audio technology expertise, focusing on recording and playback, with the goal of accurately reproducing the original intent of the recording producers. The PE-505 will amplify even very faint audio signals picked up by the cartridge, process them without coloration, and then deliver them faithfully in order to keep the listener as close as possible to the original sound that was played before it was engraved on the master disc.

The high precision RIAA correction circuit, as well as both DECCA and COLUMBIA curves are supported. In addition, selectable load resistance for MC cartridges and load capacity for MM cartridges are present

External Master Clock

Compatible with Reference 500 and 700 series

The 500 -Series offers a unique upgrade path for digital sources: a Master Clock Generator.

Technoligy derived from Professional Recording Studio's is used to further improve the transport and processing of digital signals, with a more faithfull and intense reproduction of Audio signals.
