Introducing the TN-3B Turntable

With vinyl sales at their highest for quarter of a century, it’s an auspicious time for the introduction of the TEAC TN-3B, a stylish new, sleek-looking belt-drive turntable that comes complete with a built-in MM-type PHONO EQ amplifier and USB digital output.

Like the direct-drive TN-4D turntable introduced in May, the TN-3B employs a new S-shaped tonearm with knife-edge, pivot-point bearings, co-developed with SAEC, the high-end tonearm manufacturer. The result is superlative sonic stability and impressive high resolution audio.

An excellent, easily upgradable audio-technica AT-VM95E cartridge, with an elliptical- shaped stylus, comes pre-installed on the universal-type headshell for convenience. After you’ve opened the box, set up the platter and mounted the headshell on the tonearm, you’ll be ready to enjoy your records.

The belt-drive mechanism, meanwhile, helps mitigate any unwanted cogging effects (i.e. fine pulsing) from the operation of the motor, to ensure a precise and smooth platter rotation.

The TN-3B also sports an in-built Phono EQ amplifier (using a high-precision NJM8080 op- amp), allowing users who lack an amplifier with a built-in phono stage to enjoy the sound of their vinyl records, with low distortion and in high quality. What’s more, a built-in Analogue- to-Digital converter and USB port allow users to digitise their vinyl libraries on their PC/Mac.
